My Pins in the Dance

I started in the world of dance at the age of 6 at the dance school Teresa Mann, I still remember my first day of class as if it was yesterday. My mom introduced me and I never left again. After 8 years of studies and 2 years of perfectioning in classical technique, I completed my studies in Teresa Mann, my “Alma Mater”.

From Passion to ProfessionIn 1992 I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a specialization in Classical Dance from Texas Christian University. (TCU). During my college years, I had the opportunity to tour and dance with big ballet companies in the U.S., and it touched me to organize myself and learn to balance my career of Finance with that of Dance which also demanded a lot in the plane not only physical, but also mental. At the end of my university studies I joined the company of the National Ballet of Panama where I dancing without stopping for 12 years. As part of the team and a professional dancer, I had the opportunity to play numerous roles from the classical, neoclassical and contemporary repertoire. I was also chosen to be a Jury in national and international competitions. In 2016 you will be part of the teaching team of the summer program at Valentina Kozlova School in NY, and in 2018 you will join the panel of international jury in Barcelona Spain, “The Grand Audition”. I have devoted much of my life to teaching classical dance and I am passionate about sharing knowledge. A few months ago I completed my Bolshoi Ballet Academy certification, Vaganova Method Year 1, 4 and 5.

In addition to teaching ballet art, I have been a founding member of the Panama Pro Dance Association since 1992, a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to promote young talents and provide them with opportunities for cultural exchanges at the national and international levels. I am an active part, as a Treasurer, in the new Foundation “Conexión Escénica” which brings together all the protagonists of the Performing Arts to support the artist in our country.

Ever since I was young, I’ve been passionate about sports. From athletics, to soccer, flag football to fitness. I have always found in sport a source of joy.

I love sharing my experience and knowledge with my students, motivating and guiding them so that they can their goals.

My goal as a teacher/coach is to convey the importance of training as a tool, to improve physical and mental health, as well as to foster values such as discipline, teamwork and perseverance.

This is not going – I just leave it to have it as info —-

When you dance you can feel freedom of mind, body and soul because by dancing we can free ourselves from all the earthly negative emotions and sensations that pursue or bother us, and we can also receive many of the pleasant emotions that we long to in our everyday life, such as Love, Happiness and Peace. There is nothing more beautiful than practising Ballet with passion and energy and doing it from a young age makes all the difference, it is a window that opens to success and happiness.

Ballet contributes to the well-being of the human being in a significant way, so it is worth getting excited, looking for a bar and alongside a good teacher to try it. I invite you to try it with me, you won’t regret it.
